My OS is Win 7 Pro x86. 2 days ago, Windows Update installed the new patches (KB890830 and KB972270) and let me restart the computer. From then on the notifier totally can't start, no matter restart the computer again or reinstall the notifier.

Every time I try to run the notifier, while monitoring the task manager, I see that the process of the notifier just flashes about one or two seconds in the task manager, and then disappeared.

Please tell me, what can I do? I really did nothing except patching KB890830 and KB972270 before the notifier stopped working....

Same problem here, with Vista. GmailNotifier stopped working when Windows starts. I have to kill the task (in the Task Manager) to start it manually once again.

I don't know if this has something to do with latests Windows Updates but I applied them too and I am pretty sure this started when I those updates where installed.

Yes, but finally this morning, GmailNotifier was sitting in my taskbar next to the clock, doing its job...
I don't know why, during 3 days it stopped working when Windows was starting. I had to kill the task and start it again.
