Hello, I use windows XP media center edition SP3. Even when I turn off all system sounds gmail notifier makes this loud beep noise to notify of new emails. The notebook I use is HP Pavilion dv6000. Even when I mute my system it still makes the same noise. Any suggestions?

 Ok, I actually figured out. The problem is elicited by the mere fact that no sound is assigned to "new mail alert" in the sound preferences.
